ABOUT US

Making a Difference for Students, Families, and Communities

At The Infinity Academy, students receive so much more than an ordinary education. We pride ourselves on creating a unique, exciting environment that embraces all types of learners and promotes growth both academically and personally. Students and families are also welcomed into a dynamic and supportive community. The school model reflects the community, the state, and national trends seen in education; it addresses both the depth of diversity as well as the world students will live and lead among their peers. The proposed school model will have a focus on high achievement and high levels of support that will prioritize beyond grade level learning, character, confidence, and authenticity that will be inclusive of cultures, beliefs, values, sex, gender, race, and experiences.

The school model will have 4 components. The first component of the school model embraces diversity through the implementation of the whole child model. In this model there is a focus on identifying the needs of students, selecting interventions that meet their needs, developing a plan of implementation, implementing the plan, and examining the progress over time. Even deeper within those elements are the core features that address health, safety, engagement, and support of a child. These core components of the whole child will support and foster learning for students and be the focus for adults as they interact and instruct students. To further tackle the whole child, the school will engage students in the art of social emotional learning, by embracing mindfulness strategies that allow students to maintain an awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and the surrounding environment with levels of curiosity and openness. By engaging in this the school will be able establish goals and purpose for the day which will occur each morning to allow for reflection and recentering to better position themselves for learning.

Throughout the day students will be self-aware and able to self-regulate based on strategies that will be provided by an in-house mental health professional that will be contracted to provide mindfulness training to provide students and staff the skills they need to navigate the mental and emotional health. Students will be monitored through the use of a mindfulness checklist to address individual needs that require greater support.

The opportunity to initiate, develop, and grow communal relationships are an advantage in having strong partnerships with small businesses, local government, and organizations that create overlapping relationships that exist with our families and places where they shop and entertain. The school leverages these opportunities in the decision making process to impact how considerations are made to integrate and implement community programming and service projects.
